Physical Education

At Winnetka, we recognize the importance of physical education and know that students who receive regular exercise perform better academically, socially, and emotionally.

What makes PE at Winnetka so popular is that skills and lessons are imparted through sports and games that are fun and exciting for students. From developing the most basic loco-motor skills activities in Kindergarten to preparing for the 5th grade physical fitness exam,  Winnetka students are given a chance to shine in a safe, positive, non-threatening environment that ensures student success.

Students work with a variety of different manipulatives such as bean bags, balls, jump ropes, flag belts, frisbees, hula hoops, and poly sports. Some of the activities include handball, kickball and relays. Over the past two years, Mr Pray, our physical education teacher introduced students and teachers to many fun-filled activities designed to promote a positive self image along with the development of skills applicable in any situation, including teamwork, dependability, problem solving, learning from failure, and relationship management.
